Sam Skinner Video 1: Bills - Lunchmoney Lewis:
I like this video as it has an entertaining narrative that reflects the lyrics of the song to some extent. "Bills" is a catchy song and the video is slightly comedic so it sticks in your head. I like the way it's edited with lots of zooms and panning for effect, and the way the artist plays multiple characters living down a street that they switch between to mimic the lyrics.
From the "Bills" video we are going take the use of the narrative following the lyrics of the song and use it in our own as it helps to make the music video entertaining and show the connection from the comedic video and the song it's made for.
Sam Skinner Video 2: Some Nights - Fun - Peter Hollens:
This music video technically isn't official and was created by a YouTube acapella singer for an annul competition. However, I enjoy the way it's made with cleverly used camera angles and the use of two very similar sets of clothes but with reversed colours as it makes it really enjoyable to watch as well as making it look professional when it is just an everyday guy who is only famous through YouTube.
From Peter Hollens' video we are looking to take the idea of two distinct different colour costumes and use that in our own video in order to get the subtle juxtaposition throughout the video that gives it a nice visual touch.
Olivia Calver Video 1: P!nk - Funhouse:
From this video we are going to reflect the strong narrative with meaning behind it, although not the same narrative. What we mean by this is we want to produce a strong story to go with our song.
Olivia Calver Video 2: Avicii - The Nights:
I like this music for both it's interesting camera angles and it's message. The camera angles make the video visually stylish and help to reflect the message behind the lyrics. The message behind the video is to live your life to the extreme which is inspirational for me and helped me to find motivation in a time of darkness when I first heard it.
From "The Nights" we are looking to steal the clever use of camera angles to build up the video, and we want to use this in our own.
